Hello, I’m Lara!
I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a lifestyle photographer who blends intuition, warmth, curiosity, and good humor in my approach to visual storytelling, allowing images to truly convey the power of connection.
I can’t imagine my life without a camera in my hand. Since I was young, I have always been drawn to the art of capturing life through photographs. When my camera is with me, I find that I pay closer attention to my surroundings and to people. I notice details I may otherwise have missed, or a fleeting moment of connection. Photography is more than the way I document my life and those of my clients, it serves as a love letter to my family and is a way of appreciating the world around me.
I am a deeply feeling introvert who is moved easily. I adore being in nature, with my people and traveling. I am often asked what inspires me. The truth is that the list is too long and I don’t always know until I’m in the moment. What I do know is that I am inspired by vulnerability, the smell of a pacific northwest forest and salty air, watching light dance around a room, movement, the softness at the beginning and end of the day, cooking meals for people I love, collected and old things, gardening, birding, honesty, conversations with strangers, witty people and those that love to laugh, the arts of all kinds and more.
I am drawn to story. Reflecting the beauty of someone’s life back to them is an immense honor and brings me endless joy. No matter where people are in life, each of us and our stories are worth documenting and telling.
When not taking photos, I enjoy being with loved ones, traveling, exploring light and shadow, recreating outdoors, tending our garden, and cozying up with a good read or podcast.
While I live in the Tetons with my family, I also work in the PNW and Montana, and am available to travel worldwide.

a bit more about me
My other dream job is being a DJ for a public radio station or a contributor to a storytelling program (i.e. This American Life, The Moth).
I used to chase desert tortoises for a living. One of the best times of my life!
I like to watch the ducks on our pond while listening to classical music. I’m an old retired soul in disguise.
I grew up on an island in the Pacific Northwest. I crave the smell of salty air and sword ferns.
I am ridiculously proud of my friends.
I LOVE to garden and can be obsessive about weeds and invasive species.
If you are a good story or joke teller, I’ll be your friend for life.
I aspire to live my life with kindness.
I could eat tacos with fresh salsa and guacamole all day everyday. The end.
